Ritter Planetarium: "Firefall"
Ritter Planetarium: "Firefall" at University of Toledo Ritter Planetarium
Journey through space and discover the dramatic story of cosmic impacts at this immersive planetarium experience. "Firefall" explores how comets and asteroids have shaped Earth throughout history—from harmless meteors streaking across the sky to massive boulders that pass dangerously close to our planet. You'll learn how these space visitors, while capable of destruction, have also delivered water and organic materials essential for life. This show combines stunning full-dome visuals with expert guidance to make the wonders of astronomy accessible and captivating for the whole family.
Each evening includes a live tour of the Toledo night sky where you'll identify constellations and planets visible to the naked eye, the feature full-dome presentation, and a chance to ask an astronomer anything. Weather permitting, the experience concludes with telescope viewing at Brooks Observatory. Doors open 30 minutes early so you can explore lobby displays. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors, and UToledo community members (children 3 and under are free). Tickets are first-come, first-served with no advance purchases needed. Cash and credit cards accepted.
