Be a Summer Read VolunTEEN

Be a Summer Read VolunTEEN

Volunteer with Summer Read program at King Road Library.

Is your teen interested in giving back to the community this summer? The Summer Read VolunTEEN program welcomes young people ages 13 through high school graduation to volunteer at the library. This two-hour training session prepares teens for their volunteer roles and covers library policies, expectations, and available opportunities. Participants will also receive a free VolunTEEN t-shirt at the conclusion of training. As a VolunTEEN, your teen will work directly with children and families, leading activities and crafts, reading aloud, playing games, shelving materials, and assisting with programs. Before volunteering, teens must create an online volunteer account (available from April 1st onward) and attend this mandatory training. Spots are limited and fill up quickly, so register early. For questions, contact the King Road Library location directly or reach out to the Volunteer and Partnership Liaison at 419.259.5229 or talena.reynolds@toledolibrary.org.
